New Orleans Women & Children’s Shelter (NOWCS) welcomes homeless families from diverse backgrounds, hoping to break the cycle of poverty by offering a home-like shelter environment where families can recover and normalize their lives. Two-thirds of people served by NOWCS are children, and the shelter has a 98% success rate at keeping families out of homelessness in the long term.
